The first stage, CONNECT, draws from mindfulness practices. Mindfulness may be thought of as a single method or phenomena or a collection of techniques that produce outcomes, and may be an outcome in and of itself.
The initial stage introduces the individual to a single or collection of methods that encourage a first-person experiential inquiry.
Quieting the mind, paying attention to sensations, feelings and thoughts, the individual begins to dissolve identification with the experience of Self through the lens of I, me, or mine.
The CONNECT phase is designed to cultivate awareness, regulate attention, and foster somatic awareness.
